About the work

Following the simplification of my technique in the 'Plan' series of 2002, these paintings began a return to a more complex and involved use of paint. I have mentioned in previous sections my interest in the grid format as a compositional device and these paintings continue to use this structure to enable me to concentrate on the painterly aspect of my work.
